During my eye examination the Optometrist picked up the fact that my dry macular degeneration had turned wet and I was referred straight away to the eye clinic in Stratford where I have regular checks and will eventually need injections to preserve my sight.  Thank you for your up to date equipment which enables such diagnoses to be made.

Varifocals?

I just wish I’d known sooner the benefits of a pair of premium glasses, and the incredible advantages of varifocals. It’s literally like night and day.

I’d researched varifocals, understood the advantages, but was still somewhat sceptical.

I visited all of the local opticians to explore all of the options, CG were the outstanding and carefully considered choice for me.

The warmth, wisdom and experience of the staff was matched by the quality, range and choice of frames & lenses.

After an expansive, thorough and reassuring consultation I chose Reykjavik frames with Varilux-X bespoke lenses.

These are quite literally made-for-my-eyes varifocal lenses, and any hesitation has proved completely unfounded. I couldn’t be happier.

I’m delighted that I put my faith and trust in Claire and the team. I’m overjoyed and have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending CG Opticians to you.

FYI, I’m aged 60, a lifelong contact lenses wearer, with a short-sighted prescription of -6. TV, driving, reading, and rolling about on the floor with my grandkids were the main selection criteria.

I visited CG Optical recently to have an eye test and buy new glasses and lenses. The service, as always, was top notch and Claire and her team are first class.

During my eye test I asked the optician if he could recommend drops/cream for dry eye symptoms, which he did. When I was paying, Claire asked me about my eye problems and, instead of taking payment for those items, suggested I might be better off having a consultation with Becky at their dry eye clinic.

I took her up on the recommendation and Becky has taken things to the next level. The consultation confirmed the issues and I’ve now started a course of treatment that addresses the causes of the problem - something I didn’t think was possible. After the first session (of four) my eyes feel a million times better and, having suffered from blepharitis and meibomian gland symptoms for many years, this is a huge step forward.

The dry-eye clinic is one of only a few in the whole of the UK and I’m very lucky, living locally, that it just happens to be on my doorstep.

Many thanks to Claire and Becky. I’m looking forward to the remaining treatment sessions and to a dry-eye and associated problem free future.

I was somewhat sceptical about the claims made for your treatment of my “Dry Eye” however upon completion of the series of treatments I was very happy with the results. Over the next week or so, the benefit became even more apparent. The treatment itself is unusual and the unfamiliarity of the process was initially an issue. The reality is that the heat treatment is a little uncomfortable, but does not hurt in the conventional sense and I soon became relaxed and confident with what was happening to me. It’s expensive for sure, but the results are first class in my experience. Without a doubt I can recommend this treatment.

Once again thank you for my glasses and your great service. You must remember my first visit to you following a recommendation. You and your great team, Nick the optician (great guy, knows his stuff) Becky, Tasha and Jane have looked after me, nothing too much trouble and all so very easy. A person who dreaded the optician more than the dentist! Not anymore. I don’t want to ramble on but simply until you’ve experienced what you do you don’t realise how others don’t compare. Best advice to anyone, your eye sight is to important to get it wrong, you need to choose wisely who is your optician and I firmly by experience have definitely found the right one in yourselves. So happy with my glasses, can see long distance and my computer screen without taking my glasses off. Oh and this going dark in the sunlight thing, absolutely amazing, no carrying 2 pairs of glasses, feeling liberated. Sorry this is such a long message but I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am. I’m happy to give feedback to anyone.

I was slightly concerned about having to have a test and to choose new frames which meant close contact with the Optician and Claire, but the measures they have put in place proved I had nothing to worry about. They offer PPE, hand sanitiser, they have shielding screens and UV sanitiser for all the frames. Felt a bit guilty at trying around 20 frames from their amazing collection, which then had to be sanitised! Claire and Tash are doing a fabulous job, if you need to make an appointment, don't hesitate!"
