We allow 75 minutes for our comprehensive examination, so you and your eyes get the personal care and attention they need. Advanced technology We’re always looking for ways to give you extra support and reassurance. By investing in the most advanced technology, we are able to offer the widest range of comprehensive and comfortable eye examinations available.
These include Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Optomap, which provide a detailed 3D scan of the back of your eye, allowing the optometrist to see ‘behind the scenes’. Your optometrist is able to look at every layer of your eye tissue and identify a range of problems, which a regular examination might miss. Optomap captures more than 80% of your retina in a single image, while traditional imaging methods typically only show 15% of your retina. Many conditions are identified by OCT and Optomap, such as macular degeneration, central serious retinopathy and glaucoma. These can be easily treated if picked up early.
Personal advice When we've taken a thorough look at your eyes, your optometrist or dispensing optician will discuss our recommendations with you at length. Whether you need bespoke glasses, sunglasses, lens options or contact lenses, we'll make sure you have the information you need to make the right decisions.
We’re also able to offer dry eye treatment on-site and provide referrals for specialist treatment or corrective surgery. When you leave CG Optical, we want you to feel thoroughly supported, well informed and confident in the choices you've made.
Swift referrals Through our partnership with Spa Medica (NHS), we're also able to offer quick referrals for patients who require treatment for conditions such as cataracts and many more.
We'll help coordinate your treatment and will oversee all your aftercare. You won't be left waiting for the support you need and have that added reassurance from a team who know you and your eyes.

A contact lens trial will start with an assessment to determine which lens type is most suitable for your eyes and gives the best result from both a health and visual perspective
You will then be shown how to care for, insert and remove your lenses safely. Once successful you will be offered a home trial
An up-to-date eye examination will be required
Contact Lens Check - £60
Whilst wearing your contact lenses, the optometrist will check the health and surface of your eyes
You can discuss any problems you may be having and how many days you are wearing them for

If you have dry, sore, or itchy eyes, it could be because you have a condition called Dry Eye, which is relatively common.
Our Dry Eye Clinician Becky uses IDRA, a cutting-edge technology to diagnose your condition. We are the only practice to offer this technology in Warwickshire
Becky will carry out an in-depth analysis of the layers to the front of your eye

Usually, treatment is done in three easy steps, so you can get back to a normal, more comfortable life, as quickly as possible
Becky may suggest this treatment for your Blepharitis condition. Blepharitis typically occurs when tiny oil glands near the base of the eyelashes become clogged and coated with bacteria.
Gentle, painless procedure to exfoliate the eyelids and remove excess bacterial and toxins living along the lash margins
The Blephex treatment takes about 6-8 minutes to remove any debris build-up
After the procedure, Becky will provide care instructions and options for nightly lid hygiene to ensure your eyelids stay clean and healthy

I just thought I needed to write a few words about CG optical. I have only just started using this optician but it is no exaggeration to say that I have received in a short while some of the best service and attention as I have from any company, not just any other optician. They have an amazing collection of very prestigious and high-end frames. They also use Tokai lenses if required which are outstanding in thinness and performance. I did buy three pairs of glasses. As I have a slightly odd prescription I find it very difficult to find an optician that can make up glasses (particularly vari-focals) that work for me well. That said, they got it perfect first time using Tokai lenses. From the minute I walked in to the opticians, Claire and her team made me feel very welcome and also gave me some very good advice on the types of frames that would fit my face and look good. Unfortunately, one of the frames was faulty. It was a special edition frame from Hublot, but Claire within 24 hours had sourced a brand-new frame and a new complete set of glasses were made up within 48 hours. We did try repairing the original pair, but because the tiny screws didn’t quite match, Claire wasn’t happy hence the new frame. That to me was amazing. I think companies and people are probably best judged on how they handle problems and the way Claire handled this was exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble. The service is professional and friendly and I will continue to be a customer of CG optical. I shall look forward to buying more glasses and sunglasses in the future.
